I have always wanted wings, to fly, to breathe. But maybe the process of growing them hurts. For some reason it hurts. Shenxing is stranded in what she recognizes as Lego Monkey Kid, only years in the past, during the events of Journey to the West. Or at least, that was years in the past.
Who are we to wonder where we're going, who am I to tell me who I am.
Xing is overly empathetic, and wants to help. But anytime she tries, the walls are closing in on this mask she's made. She needs to help. If she doesn't help, what is she?
But when, does a comet become a meteor, when does a candle become a blaze.
Stuck in the past and present. Unfortunately, there is no fixing immortality, even if you never asked for it.
When you're falling in a forest, and there's nobody around, do you ever really crash or even make a sound?
She asked for this, until she didn't. She wanted these things, until she remembered she wasn't a fighter. Maybe there were reasons she kept reading. Maybe there was a reason she was drawn into mythology. She doesn't know anymore. Did she even know in the first place?
It's your reflection looking back to pull you down.

Hiccup, finally convinced, turns around one last time before saying goodbye to go back to his father and Gobber, and waves at the gentle stranger who helped him.
The stranger smiles at him, although Hiccup can't see it, due to the perpetual blur on their face, he can feel that they're smiling warmly at him. And then they speak and, at last, he does remember their words:
“Goodbye, hatchling.”
