Summary
It's surprising that the tailor Garak comes to sit with him at lunch one day, uninvited. The Cardassian has never so much as batted an eye at him. Julian has never had a reason to pop by his shop and say hello. Since the end of the occupation and new arrivals to the station, such as Starfleet and Garak, he's been helping the Bajorans, while also working at Quark's as a bartender to make a living to remain on the station.
A retelling of s1e3, Past Prologue, if Julian had never joined Starfleet.

Summary
“I will not apologize for speaking the truth,” the child says. “However, I regret if that truth has offended you.”
“Jesus Christ, kid,” Jim mutters.
“I am not offended,” Spock responds, as blandly as he is able. “I was remiss in casting such hasty judgment upon your guardian.”
”Father,” she corrects.
”Your father,” he agrees.
*****
An academy AU + Tarsus aftermath fic in which James T. Kirk ends up accidentally parentally bonded to an orphaned Vulcan child. When the father/daughter duo enroll in Star Fleet, hijinks ensue (mostly at the expense of Spock’s previously immaculate but quickly deteriorating self-control).
Winner of the 2025 Philon Award for a novel-length fic (!!!)

One of the borrowed crew is Lieutenant Commander Spock. He feels a strange magnetism toward the troubled lieutenant, but the chain of command and his duty to the ship must always come first.

There’s more to peace than the absence of war. The work is as hard and uncertain as any Shinobi mission.
AKA: A highly self-indulgent fic in which a civilian woman helps an orphaned Sasuke and winds up saving the world. -

Summary
It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single Vulcan in possession of a Starfleet commission must be in want of a spouse.
Due to a series of bad decisions and bad luck, the Kirk family is stuck on Vulcan for the foreseeable future. Jim Kirk longs to join Starfleet, but circumstances have gotten in his way. Winona's solution is simple: just marry your way to your dreams.
Jim isn't planning on that. Especially given Spock is the worst, most stuck-up, unbearable sample of a Vulcan one might ever encounter. But even Spock isn't immune to a pair of fine hazel eyes...

so well done!! captures the heart of pride and prejudice without sacrificing the integrity of the star trek setting-- no one is forced into the roles of the original characters, instead the themes are allowed to reflect in different yet mirrored scenarios. just really well thought out <3
