    "Don't thank me yet!" Yamada smiled for the first time, his eyes trained on the road as they approached a sharp curve around the mountain. "Just wait until you try their—"

    Megumi lurched forward as Yamada slammed on the brakes. A keitora came barreling around the curve, taking it too wide and slamming into the side of their car. Megumi's head cracked against the window seconds before it shattered. The car spun out of control, sliding across the asphalt as Yamada desperately tried to steer it away from the steep drop-off. Megumi's heart dropped into his stomach as the car slid right off the road, tilting onto one side before rolling over the edge.
