Summary
Prowl of Petrex has signed himself over to the Primacy as an indentured servant. His contract, however unreasonable, seems worth weathering after the fall of Praxus in exchange for the safety of his only remaining family. Meanwhile, Jazz keeps himself busy these days as part of the ragtag group of revolutionaries who have been drawn to a charismatic young archivist by the name of Orion Pax. Barricade convinces Prowl to take a... salacious photograph before he leaves for Kaon on work. This could only ever lead to a disastrous result.
Excerpt: Prowl was the very image of professionalism, of the code he ascribed to. The way he saw it, a photo’s function was to capture the essence of its subject. He’d been told he was cold, calculating, even cruel. The mech in the mirror reflected that with a severe face and narrowed optics. He’d even been told he was handsome, and he supposed standing in the bright lights of the washracks that too was true.
