Summary
Top shelf liquor with a top shelf girl floating in it. She was radiant, turquoise tail flicking lazily through amber. Ken had served her to many customers, of course, and each time he envied the way the alcohol would slide over her rounded curves and down the customer's throat.
Then she would touch the other man. As she did with all of her regulars (faces which he hated and knew by rote). Under the black lights scattered throughout the building, those spots would shimmer with reflected residue–the more frequent customers glowing much more brightly, as though she'd tattooed her essences into their skin.
Just like she'd inked herself into the surface of his heart; it was all over his hands, his wrists, sections of his forearm tattoos (“You could use some color here, Ken,” she had purred before scratching the blank areas and filling him in like a goddamn canvas), and where she always curled her tail teasingly around his ring finger.

“Thank god, Momo. I thought I'd lost you,” he choked, marking a path down her forearm, sucking the sensitive flesh of her inner elbow and continuing wetly, delirious and with tears pooling in the corners of his soil-dark gaze, “I'll show you. I'm yours, I'm yours–”
Whimpering, fuck, he was actually whimpering–like it was killing him to drink so slowly of her, but he held himself in check all the same. Each word was like an oath, a curse and a gift in turn.
Hers? Could he really belong to her? He obviously believed it.
“I love you. Momo, I've missed you so much,” he gasped, finally leaning in and twining his hands over her chubby waist. With heated lips at her neck, he pleaded with a woman that didn't exist anymore, “Can I kiss you? Please? Please, I wanna taste you–”

Ken Takakura was age 18 and had never made a friend. Maybe it was his obsession with aliens, science, and Warhammer models (specifically Genestealer Cult); or maybe he was just an anxious dork. but he could handle the bullying and his depression so long as he could also go to a hobby store and play a game of Kill Team or build a model.
Momo Ayase was a pretty, popular girl who just wanted to get through the last year of school, and maybe make painting tutorial videos and play her Nighthaunt army in the local tournaments without chuds being chuds. But since the community can be so toxic sometimes, and High School fucken blows, she wasn't sure that would ever happen. And nobody she knew played Warhammer.
Could these two find a kindred soul among all the scum in this world?

Though an aura of playfulness sat heavy in their van as it puttered along the dusty roads winding their way back to the shrine, Ken could feel the hint of hurt that hid just behind her words. "You weren't wrong, it is one my favorite smells but it isn't my absolute favorite."
Her volume dropping quickly, Momo fiddled with a strip of hair that had fallen into her vision during her finger waving bout, "Then why wouldn't you at least tell me what it was…?"

Summary
The gray, cloying silence pressed in again in her absence, but that was fine. Preferable even. Nobody noticed as he opened the door to his own classroom – his teacher scarcely even registered the interruption. It was comforting to be a phantom again.
But as he took out his English notes and stacked them side-by-side with his now-battered Super Mystery copies, he couldn’t help but think... it had been an interesting experience to be seen.
