Nicky closes the door behind him. He can't help giving her a wider berth than necessary as he walks past the coffee table to the opposing armchair, and if he were less tense he would have hysterics at how he is circling around this truly tiny woman as if she is a physical threat. He sits, posture straight and centered. The therapist sits down as well, and crosses her legs.

"So, are you guys dating?" Nile asks during their lunch break. They are at the Indian buffet, and Nicky is telling Nile about a thrift store he and Joe went to that he thinks she would like. It takes a him a minute to parse the question. "Well, you keep mentioning him and smiling," she adds when he doesn't say anything. "And you haven't been seeing anyone for a while, so I just wondered if that was why."
"No, not at all," Nicky says. "We're friends, and he lives nearby, that's all."

Shane wants to figure out if he's gay before he gets drafted—and no, the way he felt when Ilya Rozanov smirked at him with a cigarette between his lips in Saskatchewan has nothing to do with it. Unfortunately, the random guy he hooks up with to try and make sure one way or another takes a picture, and Shane gets outed before the draft. In the ensuing scandal, he goes seventh overall, to Ottawa.
