Summary
One moment, Atsumu’s walking towards the stadium entrance, the next he’s getting body-checked by what feels like half the band. He lands flat on his ass, almost falls off the sidewalk into traffic, which, holy shit! Holy shit. His ex-boyfriend is actually trying to kill him.
Osamu, the jerk, stands over him pinching the bridge of his nose like he’s the one being inconvenienced here. “You’re really gonna die before the tournament ends, huh? This is gonna be so embarrassing to explain to Ma.”
The Inarizaki High School Volleyball Club is going for the gold in the 2014 Spring Interhigh. They’ve just got to overcome a vengeful Inarizaki marching band, Atsumu’s many talented volleyball crushes, and the twins’ communication issues first. Easier said than done.

Summary
Atusmu looked, and there was no one in the gym. He pulled out his phone while he was waiting for the rest of the team. He had to tell his best friend off for what he had been hearing. He called Oikawa, and he answered quickly.
“You know,” He said, getting down to tie his shoe, since the lace had come undone. In doing that, he had missed everyone quietly walking into the gym. “You really exhibit fatherless behavior.”
“Yeah, and you have mommy issues.” Oikawa says, shrugging. “What’s next, you’re going to say that the sky is blue? Also say hi, you're on speaker.”

Summary
He stares at the roach, notices how it’s smashed over a photo of him and Osamu. They're standing in the garden outside. Its flattened corpse is smeared directly over Atsumu’s smiling face. He closes the album and slides it under the bed. He turns off the light and tries not to view it as a sign.
Or: Atsumu grows up, confronts his past, has a meltdown, and finally embraces the future. Just...not necessarily in that order.

Summary
At sixteen, he discovered that kicking the top bunk where Osamu was sleeping would lead to a bloody nose and a month's worth of being grounded. At seventeen, he had the unfortunate realization that bleach would strip your hair if you didn’t deep condition it after. At eighteen, he may have learned the hardest lesson of all: arguing with a referee over a bad call would get you ejected from the game…and benched for the next two.
Or: Atsumu spends his time trying not to argue with refs, so Kiyoomi decides to do it on his behalf. Atsumu copes about as well as you think he might.
