Summary
After giving in to his meddling friend’s insistence (thanks Minho) Hyunjin caves in and agrees to meet up with a stranger to potentially make them his sugar baby in order to fix several problems at once. First, his new apartment wouldn’t feel as empty as a haunted house. Second, he would get to spite-spend his parents’ money on someone who could use the money. Third, having his very own nude model would be fun. It doesn’t have to be sexual, right? Hyunjin is not looking for that. Probably.

A lie perhaps, but a well meant one. He'd not be happy to try to fix a mistake the knights had made. But Jean was not only the Acting Grandmaster but foremost a childhood friend. There were not many things left from his carefree past and the friendship with Jean was not something he was willing to let go.
" It's about Kaeya," she says.
Archons, nevermind, Diluc thought. Just because their pet turtles used to be playmates when they were young, didn't mean he'd have to help her with that.
Or: Newly revealed documents threaten Kaeya's position within the Ordo. Jean and Diluc come up with a plan to stop that. Nevermind Diluc's emotions making that way harder than it has to be.

The ice cubes in his shaker clink in a chaotic way before he neatly pours the mixture into Lisa's glass. The witch is sat at the bar, facing Diluc as he attends to his tavern guests. She looks both relieved and exhausted.
"I'm glad to see you and Kaeya finally able to talk to each other again. In a wholly civil manner."
Diluc feels old stubbornness bubble in his chest, the urge to protest just for the hell of it. But the newfound hope in his chest is still too fresh to be anything but honest.
"I'm glad, too", he answers as he hands out two more beer to two young knights. He wonders if they have a guard shift tmrw. "Happy even, I'd dare say."
Lisa smiles at him over the rim of her cocktail glass.
"And to think it only took stabbing his biological father with an icicle in order to protect you, to finally convince you of his loyalty to Mondstadt."
