It had been over five years since it had all happened now, and Tim was Tim enough to convince himself that he had always been Tim. The memories of the past, of the Joker, were gone, and he didn't even seem to realize they were missing. He knew he had been kidnapped by the Clown Prince of Crime, but it hadn't been much other than that, right?
But Tim hadn't always been Tim, and he wouldn't always be Tim.

Tim snatched the pendant back, cradling it in his palm. “It was a gift.” He stuffed it back under his shirt with a sharp glare and hissed, “You have no right to touch me nor tell me what to do.”
Damian faltered, indignation flagging to uncertainty. “I don’t understand,” he murmured. “Why would Grandfather gift you a powerful amulet for nothing in return?”

He has to know that’s not all. But he’s asking anyway, to get as much information as possible out of the villain before they’re left to their own devices. It’s what they’ve all been trained to do.
Tim squeezes his eyes shut, knowing what Joker is going to say. Knowing exactly what the evil madman is planning to do.
Damn it. Damn it all to hell, not here, not now. Not like this.
