Halt's captor strode loudly down the path, kicking the door open and walking in. He nearly cried out in surprise as he found himself tackled against the wall of the barn, a sword to his neck. His bow and quiver were pinned between himself and the wall, he'd left his knife with his pack and Halt was holding his sword to his neck. He tried desperately to struggle to free himself, but Halt had the advantage of adrenaline coursing through his veins and the fact that he'd finally had some food and water to eat.
"Who sent you?" Halt hissed, and the man didn't answer, eyes glaring a defiant reply. Annoyed, Halt tore off his captor's hood and mask, and then froze.

Before Loid's brain can catch up, the words tumble out, “You’re more than enough.”
“How are you so sure?”
Loid gently turns Yor’s hand over so that her palm faces up. He traces her hand with his thumb as softly as he can muster. A part of his ministrations comes from practice. Some of it feels like a genuine act of comfort. Twilight or Loid, it doesn’t matter. He tries to convey what words can’t: his apology, his fear, and the care he has for her in a single action. He kisses her inner wrist. It’s soft and fleeting against his lips. “Because you’re you. And that’s a beautiful thing to be.”
It scares him how easily he falls into these cloying, tender habits. And yet, Yor looks at him like he’s the kindest man she knows.

But what happens when Natsu walks back into her life more than two years after he left and acts like nothing has changed?
Lucy has changed in ways that Natsu will never understand and the rest of their former Guild is no better than him.
