Summary
The two times Severus cries, witnessed by Minerva - she approaches him the second time when he tries to kill himself.
Or
Severus cries on the astronomy tower shortly after being appointed headmaster during the second Wizarding war, his only comfort is the fact that he would never live past 40. He would never allow himself to. Minerva witnesses his breakdown as a cat but doesn’t confront him that night.
Until,
A few days after the war ends, Severus finds himself on the Tower again, and to his Dismay - alive. He cries on the tower again, and gets ready to kill himself with a horribly painful poison, angry that he didn’t die when that blasted snake tried to kill him the first time around.
Minerva steps in this time.
Severus muses if being forced to live is the cruel retribution for his sins. How ironic, considering Lily never got to live.
He distantly wonders which higher being is currently laughing at him.
