i feel like a lot of people have wondered how different atla as a whole would be if aang had been older, so in this au, aang was frozen at age 16! naturally, i just had to flip aang being after katara from day one to katara now having a crush on aang from the very beginning.
essentially, to recap. ATLA aang aged up AU fic. kataang. where she falls first, and he falls harder.
also, cmon. i just had to write a new version of the scene where zuko and aang meet- "you? you’re just a teenager!" "s-…so are you…?"

Summary
It's 8 years after the events in The Outsiders story. Ponyboy has a new position working in journalism at a prestigious newspaper in Boston. He is investigating a story about abuse in the foster care and juvenile reform system. Meanwhile, mysterious memories from his past that lain hidden for years are emerging and have a story of their own to tell that Pony has suppressed and doesn't want to recognize.
What if Pony's penchant for denial comes with a much bigger price?
This is by far the darkest Outsiders fic I've ever written, which is new ground for me.

Ponyboy Davis is not a Curtis. He is also not a Davis. His real name is Arthur Palm. And he's an ex cult member. The cult was the Rising Cross cult, a religious cult. Ponyboy's role? Sacrifice.
Ponyboy didn't want to be a sacrifice, so one night he ran. And ran. He notified the police, who notified the FBI, who notified... whoever comes next. Until Ponyboy ended up in witness protection.
And he was placed with the Curtis', who were threatened into it. If Darry didn't take Ponyboy, Soda would go to a boys home. They didn't know of his origins, all they knew was his cover story. That he was a JD.
Since apparently the cult wouldn't expect Arthur to be a hoodlum.
Fic is hopefully better than summary.
