Sansa, for all the good it was doing, was currently choosing names for the imaginary children she had with Theon that were now dancing around her head as she bounced Eddie, trying to convince the two men beside her that the dreamy expression on her face was because of her nephew, not little children with Tully red hair and the blue-green eyes of the Greyjoy family. So she simply nodded in agreement.
Surely, if they had a daughter they would have to name her Alannys for his mom; Lanny, for short, would be adorable. Robb had claimed Eddard, securing his son’s spot as grandpa’s favorite grandchild for life. She wondered if she could convince Theon for Florian as a boy's name, after that old fairy tale she loved so much-
“Sansa?”

Sansa blushed deeply as she tied the favor around Theon's arm. Then she placed a peck on his cheek and said rather resolutely, “There. Now you, too, will come back.” As much as he doubted a slip of fabric would in any way guarantee his safe return, he thought not to disabuse her of the notion. Remembering his manners, Theon bowed. “My Lady.”
The gesture surprised him, and it was all he could think about on the march south to war.

Summary
It would be an easy lie to say that he had gone after her out of the goodness or his heart or because it was the right thing to do. He couldn't do that though, not when she was looking at him like he was a hero from one of the songs. He did this for himself, not for her.
