Summary
“I could marry Svetlana,” Ilya says in one breath, like the sentence bores him with its mundanity.
Shane feels like he’s been pushed from a cliff, left to fall and break his bones, like the lungs just got ripped from his chest, like a bullet was shot on his shameful, stupid, desperate heart.
He likes her. She makes him happy. In the rare times he said her name in Shane's presence, it brought a smile soft as cotton on the Russian’s face.
She was there first. She's a woman. She's perfect for Ilya, his lifestyle, and his career. Why would he bother himself trying something more with Shane? Why, when he could have that more with someone who would be so much less complicated?
_______
Or Shane thinks his love has to be selfish for it to have any worth. Ilya disagrees but that man is circling around the subject from so far away it might as well be from space.

Summary
“I was thinking… Would you like to dance? With me?” The man offered his hand as if there was even the slightest possibility that Shane would agree.
He had a fucking husband – couldn’t he see it? It was always so obvious, with Ilya glaring at everyone who even dared to touch Shane and showing off not only his ring but also Shane, as if he was his most precious possession. They belonged together and it was ridiculous for anyone to have a nerve to even ask for a dance. It was only a matter of time before Ilya made his life a living hell, claming Shane in every way possible and maybe more, and then–
Except the man was still looking at him, expextantly, and Ilya wasn’t doing any of the things he should.
Or: Taking Wyatt's advice, Ilya tries to stop being 'too much' for his husband. For Shane, it is an obvious sign of upcomming divorce
(Or: 5 times that Ilya thought he was doing good by distancing himself from his husband and one time Shane proved him wrong)

Summary
“Well, I guess you got what you wanted from me already,” Hollander continued. “Whatever. Fuck you.”
“Wait, no, Hollander.” Ilya turned, throwing an arm into Hollander’s path. “That’s not—”
“No, it’s fine. Stupid of me to expect anything else.” Hollander shook his head, gaze downcast, the barest hint of angry pink tinging his freckled cheeks. “Thanks for making it good, at least.”
It. His first time.
Ilya was the worst sort of asshole.
---
In Sochi, Shane isn’t shy about calling out Ilya for ghosting after getting what he wanted. Once they’re safely away from Russia, Ilya forces himself to be honest with Shane about what that first time meant.

Summary
Buck woke up, hollow. At first, he thought it was a dream. But then he shifted and felt the ache in his backside, the sticky squelch of leftover lube inside him. He felt the dried come crack along his skin. It was real, he realized with a sinking feeling.
He sat up, refusing to look at his bedmates. There were used condoms and wrappers all around them.
How could he have done this?
What was he going to tell Eddie?
