Deciding he wasn’t going to find anything better or that he’d prefer to spend his limited coins on, Remus was ready to turn around and head straight for the counter when a decidedly non-Welsh voice called out behind him, “Oh, that’s a great album!”
If Remus didn’t know the person speaking wasn’t British from their accent, he’d certainly know from their choice to speak to a complete stranger rather than politely ignoring them and pretending they didn’t exist.
Turning, he found an American girl about his age hovering behind him. She was a head shorter than him, and her shift dress flowed around her knees as she pushed herself onto her tiptoes before quickly lowering herself back onto her soles like she couldn’t find it in herself to stay still. She reminded him of James in that moment, her dark, large eyes blinking expectantly at him before flickering back to the Queen record in his grip.
