Summary
Ron shuddered. “Whatever you say, mate.” But he couldn’t shake the jittery feeling of spiders crawling over his skin. “So if not spiders,” he asked, eager to change the subject, “what are you afraid of?”
Harry snorted, as if the answer were obvious. “Voldemort killed my parents, Ron.”
“He doesn’t count,” Ron protested, pointedly avoiding using the name. It still made him uncomfortable how Harry could speak the name so easily. “Everyone’s scared of him. I mean little things. Like heights, snakes, that kind of thing.”
Harry was quiet for a while. So long that Ron assumed he was ignoring his question. Which was fine. It was quite personal, after all.
“I suppose…I suppose I don’t like small spaces. Y’know, being trapped.”OR
Small moments in the series where Ron realizes just how bad Harry’s home life is with the Dursleys.

Summary
Percy wasn’t sure what to make of the boy who had made fast friends with his youngest brother. Harry was nothing like he had heard and nothing like he’d imagined. Solely based on the information presented by all the history books and the Daily Prophet, where he had envisioned a well taken care of, well educated - if maybe a bit arrogant due to prominency- young wizard, there stood a small, unsure, untrusting and scared little boy. Nothing at all like he (or anyone else) had thought.
or
when Percy agrees to tutor Harry, he notices some things that seem off about the shy boy. These concerns lead him to try and find help and, in doing so, he adopts a new brother.

Summary
Merlin was a kind and gentle soul, sometimes too kind and too gentle for his own good. Or you know, his own wellbeing. Arthur on the other hand, well…there was a reason that Arthur’s manservant was considered off limits. Any who dared harm him was not long for Camelot (or this world for that matter).
Or the five people Merlin unintentionally gets exiled, and the one he gets exiled on purpose.

Summary
“Galiad, fifth son of Chrockland, former Knight of Camelot, for your grievous crimes against the crown, I hereby sentence you to execution, death by beheading–”
Galiad fell to his knees, ears ringing. He never should have tried to kill the King. It had been a stupid, reckless decision, and he could not believe he’d been so easily bribed into it.
He had let his ego get the better of him, and now, here he was, on his knees in the throne room, fighting back tears, trying not to throw up all over the stone floor, begging for his life to be spared.
And here’s the real kicker; he wasn’t even on trial for the attempted murder of his King. His Majesty didn’t know about that.
No, Galiad was on trial for the crime he’d committed against King Arthur’s manservant.
