Summary
After the war, there is a buzz under Ichigo's skin, and an itch that he can't scratch that lasts with him for years, that aches for a fight and craves the taste of violence. Finally, after the ache has quieted, the itch is gone and his Hollow isn't pressed tight against the skin of his teeth, Ichigo settles down and finds a routine for himself in an attempt to live a normal life.
Of course, Grimmjow has other plans, and smashes straight through Ichigo's glass house of carefully crafted normality.

“Something on your mind?” Kojiro asks as they eat breakfast over his dining table, and Kaoru regards him simply.
Thinks of how he wants to spend every morning like this.
How he wants the last thing he hears before he falls asleep to be Kojiro’s soothing voice, wants the first thing he sees when he wakes up to be Kojiro’s smile in the morning light.
“Move in with me,” Kaoru says plainly.He realised what he said earlier was true. It was as easy and natural as breathing, to be with Kojiro this way.

“By that point, I had seen the Eiffel Tower. I walked the grounds of Notre Dame, I dined in a restaurant over the River Seine,” Kaoru ticked off. “But the most beautiful thing I’d ever laid eyes on in France, was you,” he said simply, and Kojiro felt as though he’d just been shot at point blank range in his chest.
“I saw you again, and I realised, just how much I couldn’t live without you, and that was when I knew,” Kaoru continued to speak, and Joe wanted to interrupt him, to shut him up, but to also let Kaoru speak without stopping for the rest of his life. “Paris was when I knew that I had always been in love with you.”

“I nearly went with him, this time,” Kotetsu said wistfully, facing the window that led to the hallway. Barnaby tilted his head to the side in question.
“Him?”
“Death-san,” Kotetsu said with a chuckle, the silent tension in the room stretching.
“And why didn’t you?” Barnaby eventually asked quietly, words trembling a little. Kotetsu turned to face him.
“I heard a little bunny needed saving over here,” Kotetsu said jokingly, bringing his hand up to Barnaby’s warm, soft cheek as he cupped it gently.Despite being in a fresh romantic relationship with Bunny, Kotetsu fights his inner demons alone again, nearly gets himself killed in the process, and Bunny sets about to fixing it.

Kotetsu reached out for him, touching his arm, making Bunny face him. “I care about it,” he said seriously.

There are just two small problems with that.
