Summary
It was supposed to be over. The connection was broken. The game wasn't going to let Kayla control Bunnygirl anymore.
But to be honest, she didn't want to control Bunnygirl. She just wanted to know what happened next. And thanks to some rather supernatural experiences, she knew just how to do that.
The issue is that observing a thing changes its behavior. Especially when you can't help but try to communicate.
From Bunnygirl's perspective, it really isn't all that much weirder than her first day of consciousness. Except things are a lot more complicated in the world of humans, and even after leaving the Lab there are still things down there that haunt her. Things that might claw their way to the surface, literally or otherwise. At least the new voice in her head is helping her adjust.

Summary
Juli was made into a weapon, so long ago now she can't even remember why it happened. And for her life since then all she can remember is being a weapon for the Hayward.
Now she is free from the Hayward, free from her mission, and free from the Strange. It feels odd, being a weapon with no battle.
A small conversation with a ceramic golem helps her rectify that feeling of oddity.

It's been half a year since the Roaring. Since the end of the world, and the undoing of that end. And while reality has stabilized a bit, it isn't fully mended.
December has been having nightmares. Nightmares of a world she has never lived in. Of a figure clad in black armor, of a fight with people she cares deeply about, and of a beast that terrifies her to her core. And with her unstable form, subject to emotion and whim, it's only a matter of time before those nightmares bleed into the waking world.

Kris was done. They weren't going to tolerate the interdimensional invader in their ribcage any longer. And if they had to open a fountain to get rid of it, they were going to.
Or at least, they were. Until that invader offered something new: the chance to remember between resets. To make their own decisions with nothing more than some minor advice and a helping hand if requested. Naturally, Kris was interested. And that's why they woke up on Thursday morning, remembering two days that technically hadn't happened yet.
Messing with the code can be delicate work. Do the wrong thing at the wrong time, and the bridge might just break. Or change fundamentally.
It's a good thing nothing like that could happen, right?

One week ago, Kris nearly destroyed the world. Seven days ago, they took a stupid, selfish shot in the dark, throwing away all the plans they had so meticulously prepared in favor of one last, desperate gamble. One hundred and sixty-eight hours ago, they finally sealed the shelter’s Dark Fountain for good—and miraculously, thanks only to their friends, nobody had to die.
But more importantly: sixteen hours ago, Susie, apparently, went out with Noelle for an ice cream date and neither of them told Kris about it beforehand.
By all accounts, that should be fine. That should be not a big deal, because Susie and Noelle are girlfriends, and girlfriends go on dates with each other. And, typically, girlfriends aren’t expected to invite regular friends to join in on those dates. Especially not friends who lied to both of them repeatedly and nearly ruined everything, everywhere, forever.
The cruel truth of the matter, though, is that Kris is extremely not fine.

Summary
A few years after the world was saved from disaster by its new Protector, from the depths of the cosmos where the Visitor left to came a thought. A thought of wanting. A thought that did not want to be alone. A thought that reached out... and brought itself to the world. If it could not see the world, and the world could not see it, perhaps if the world saw a part of both the world and the Visitor, it could see through other eyes.

Summary
Kris was done. After a couple life-changing months, the Roaring was gone and the Angel was banished. They would need time to process the new happy life they now lived, and time to grieve the interdimensional invader they had grown so attached to, now separated from them. But first, it was time to check up on how hometown had changed after experiencing the Roaring and the power of the Dark Worlds.
Meanwhile, Ralsei is very confused as to why the narrative still feels like its moving. Weren't they supposed to reach an end? With their connection to the upper layers cut off, what could possibly be keeping things moving, and what did that mean for them?
This work is based on the events of Persistent Variables by BewareTheDragon1. It takes place the day after chapter 99 (so, before the actual epilogue).
