Lucy Gray raised an eyebrow.
"Why?" she asked, catching him by surprise.

Lucy Gray was increasingly puzzled.
"So... You're not breaking up with me?"
Coriolanus felt himself freeze for a moment, his heart skipping a beat.
"Breaking up with you?!" he finally asked, grabbing her by the shoulders. Lucy Gray stiffened but his panic was more urgent, and had invaded every recess of his mind "Why should I break up with you?! Lucy Gray?!"
You want to leave me? You? It is you who want to leave me?!
She had opened her mouth wide, surprised as he shook her slightly.
You can't. You can't. Don't leave me, Lucy Gray! Don't leave me.
Finally Lucy Gray roused herself and, with a firm step, removed herself from his grasp. She watched him, now, rigid and with half-closed eyes.

Summary
