    I'm not fully caught up in the Old Peace aftermath, but working on it. I've been enjoying it immensely, though, and it's sparked my creativity. So, I casually jotted down a bit of scenes that have been playing out in my head regarding my Drifter and Roathe. I'm not sure this is going anywhere, but I've been having fun with it and figured I'd share it for those who might be interested. I don't really have a set title for this yet either, so forgive the cliche placeholder, lol. (I say from a place of insecurity rather than judgement). Kudos / Comments are always appreciated. <3

    Update:
    I've now finished the Old Peace, completed the Descendia 21x, and caught up with Roathe's romance. I may not have had a plan with this when I started, but I'm pretty pleased with the direction it's taken. I'm still not sure how many chapters it will have, as I am still working on some stuff. Also, I feel I should warn, I am only lightly editing this. I don't have a lot of time or energy to do an extensive review for each chapter right now, so please forgive any typos or errors found.

    Anyways, I've had so much fun writing Drifter and Roathe, and I can only hope you have just a good a time reading it!

    Drifter held out his hand to shake like an equal. “Truth be told, if any of us convinces Loid to tell the family the truth, it’ll be the kid.”

    Roathe said, “What? Even it can see my wisdom?”

    Drifter took his hand back, folded his arms, and raised an eyebrow. “Another term of your good behavior is that if you keep being an asshole, I don't have to come smell the stench.”

    Roathe contemplated throwing the grimoire at him. Unfortunately, the value of victory through submission still held true until such time as he remembered everything Albrecht took from him. So he uttered a tired sigh. “I see how it is. I play nice and in return, you delve into the depths of my haunted mind along with me, the better to defeat my inner demons and return my memories.”

    “It is completely impossible to feel anything less for you, my dear.” He kissed her hand, hazel eyes examining her scant grave gold. Perhaps she would allow him to change that.
    “Must you always have something enchanting and passionate to say?” she laughed through a cough, flustered by him yet again.
    “I always choose my words carefully,” he whispered, their competition resumed. Warm lips a hair away from her skin, his breath hot against it. He wished to court and woo her properly, but when she looked at him like that, like he was all she wanted, it wore heavily on his resolve. If only he were a weaker man.
