That is why Piltover was run by alphas, the pioneers of progress as well as the keepers of tradition. Little Jayce hardly gave it a thought, being only a child and all, until he met Viktor. Like a flame flickering to life, something inside awakened, telling him to take. To claim. Viktor would have no idea how this small flame would soon grow into a blaze large enough to engulf everything he had worked for his entire life, as Jayce would burn it all to ash just to have him.

Snow drifted across a crisp surface of ice atop of more snow; so much of it that it left Jayce blinded momentarily. It must have rained overnight, freezing that cold shell in place. Over the bushes, the crowns of the dark trees watched from where they flanked the uneven road on which his family’s wagon had come to a halt. He had jumped off, hands letting go of the reins almost before he pushed them into his mother's, after he had called her frantically.
There was something out there. Like a magnet it had pulled on his heart, splintering his perception.
OR: Jayce and his mother find an abandoned Viktor in the snow and take him in. Gay panic ensues.
