Bruce squeezed his eyes shut.
"Bruce? What's wrong?"
"You didn't say yes."
When they started dating, it felt only natural to keep it quiet. To keep the circle small—after all, as close as Batman and Superman were, Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne were strangers. For them to suddenly start dating, out of nowhere, it would raise questions neither were prepared to answer.
