Summary
Caught in a titanic duel with the Commission, Eamon is having a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad week. As one could expect, it involves half of Southern Europe, Samy’s peculiar knocking pattern, and Carmen Saru beating him mercilessly at chess.

Summary
Eve's plans take another turn as she begins to work for Margo.
"That night, with its glorious revolution, remaps her path to success entirely. Watching the scene unfold, she realizes she’s been a fool to think it would be enough to skin Margo, to imitate her every move until she’s wormed her way into her dream. No, Margo Channing has to be utterly and irrevocably destroyed, her force of attraction annihilated, in order for her to appropriate the energy of pure desire crystallized within her for her own purposes. She needs her on her knees, watching everything being taken away, and she wants to see her flayed hand grab onto her for dear life. Only then she will exist, only then she will be free from her pull.
Oh, she will go to Hollywood alright. But when they inaugurate her star on the Boulevard, she will have Margo Channing licking her name clean in the fresh concrete." -

Summary
"On the side of the Log there is a knot, black, shaped like an eye, where a Branch used to be. It is a point of weakness, a defect in the wood – a wound that marks the place, separates. Sometimes we find that within us ruptures are present, discrepancies: no flesh is truly uniform and out of the gaps, with time, dreams are born. Good or bad, it is not for us to tell."
"A man with shiny hair, like oak bark under the rain, is driving through the woods with a sense of wonder.
'Diane,' he says, speaking in his hand in confidence. 'I’ve never seen so many trees in my life.'
The trees, for their part, have known him for quite some time."This is a story about wood.

Summary
"Dear Reader,
If I take the liberty of making those letters, notes, cyphers and occasional threats public while Mr Snicket is still lost somewhere in the west of the Overarching Ocean, it’s due, so to speak, to a sea change that gave them a new significance.
The collection of items presented here retraces, for the most part, the ongoing correspondence between Mr Snicket and his sister, from the beginning of the Baudelaires’ tragic ordeal to a very recent date. You will excuse the sometimes obscure nature of the allusions the documents contain: written communication between two persons who know each other very well often reads like code, especially when it is, in fact, code. A few independent notes, interspersed in the file in an order I found at first quite mysterious, seem to belong, according to the ducal seal, to the Duchess R of Winnipeg. In one particular place, a fourth hand can be identified: but the least said about it, the best. The Editor"
A repository of Lemony and Kit's letters during the events of the books, along with... other, lost letters from beyond the sea (AU, fix-it of sort).

Summary
In the Unreal City, where time and space are never fully jointed, Madame Sosostris reigns supreme. But a bad cold, the Ides of April and an unruly client have been plotting to disrupt her schedule, blending the mythic with the mundane beyond recognition. Now all the city's voices say it's her turn to have her fortune told.
"She had a know-how, could concoct a little formula for every impressionable youth who hoped to find jewels in her basket of crabs. Like the one who sat behind her mahogany table now, looking out of place – they all did, in their own way, like the sailors she had sent to a heroic, pointless end not forty minutes ago after an eloquent reading. She knew they would turn up in her pack soon: a compelling card, the Three Lost Sailors, lots of possibilities. And you would see the details in the drawing, that this one’s hair had been red, this one already limped, and the third was tired beyond his years. From this they would gain meaning. But the girl behind the table, yes, she felt even more displaced.
“What was your question again, dear?”"

Summary
After everything, Aziraphale and Crowley, by unspoken agreement, begin sharing their lives.
---
Why? Aziraphale wanted to ask him, why millennia of the way things were, and now this? But while Crowley seemed to have little issue upending every unspoken rule they’d ever written for themselves, Aziraphale was not so flexible, and they had spent thousands of years never quite addressing whatever it was this had stemmed from. Words, Aziraphale had always felt, were for bickering about where to eat for lunch, or hashing out ontological debates, or other trivial nonsense; there was no need to trifle with the imprecision of language, with phrasing and the possibility of being misconstrued, when it came to important matters if the other person simply understood, without needing it said. Six thousand years ago, when Aziraphale had met Crowley on the wall of Eden, watching the first two humans set out to begin the rest of history, something deep within him, more central even than his Grace, had thought, oh, it’s you, and that had been enough for him--for both of them, he assumed--for three millennia.
However much he wanted to ask, he didn’t know how. The words simply weren’t there.

Summary
Crowley was still as stone beside him. His ears were cherry-red. “So...if we pretend we’re in a relationship, we’ll be safe.”
“I believe so.”
“And that would, that would involve, what?” he spoke hesitantly, softly. “Holding your hand, telling you that you mean a lot to me, kissing you for them to see?”
Two great hands were constricting Aziraphale’s lungs. He fought back an undignified wheeze. “Yes, I think so.”
“I can do that,” he croaked.
~
In a panic, Aziraphale tells the archangels he survived hellfire due to his soul mixing with Crowley's because they're in a romantic and sexual relationship. They want him to prove it. Cue a fake relationship.Series
