Summary
Arngeir had signed up for a lot of things as the (human) leader of the Greybeards. The duty of speaking, leading the decisions as a group, and potentially leading a new age of Greybeards if someone was willing to step up. He has even signed up for teaching potential Dragonborn what their duties entail if they were to step forward. So getting two of them, two seemingly lost orsimer children, both roughly around the age of 9 at the same time was... a lot. But that is part of the job. This though, may be a bit out of his area of expertise.
