Summary
After Elia’s tragic death, Rhaegar took Lyanna as his queen. From that union came Prince Aemon Targaryen (Jon Snow).
Princess Rhaenys Targaryen did not die at birth. She was smuggled away and raised in secret in Dorne, hidden from a father she believed never loved her. Years later, word reaches King Rhaegar that his daughter lives.
Knowing he can no longer hide her, Prince Doran is forced to act. To protect Rhaenys, he aligns with House Baratheon, who have their own grievance against the Targaryens. In pursuit of both protection and revenge, Prince Doran and Lord Robert hope to arrange a betrothal between Renly and Rhaenys.
Rhaenys wants nothing more than a quiet life in Dorne, far from crowns and expectations. She never wished to marry, nor to be claimed by a legacy she barely understands. But for the sake of her family, she allows Renly’s courtship. And Renly is unlike anything she expected.
But when the Targaryens arrive, the truth she has carried begins to unravel. Aemon Targaryen is not who she imagined and he has come to claim what he believes is his.
