Ugh. Maybe he should just let it sit and leave it up to fate. Actively searching for a match seems fruitless, akin to watching water boil or paint dry.
He’s a few minutes into a soap opera rerun when a shrill ping nearly makes his heart jump out of his chest. He hooked a bite this fast? He scrambles to grab his phone and finds one glowing notification waiting for him.
No profile picture. This is already off to a bad start. He opens the message with a wary tap.

Mizuki wouldn’t say he’s a possessive partner. Rather, he’d argue he’s more along the lines of obsessive if you asked him after a drink or three. It makes sense. His entire life is a series of rituals and rites to keep things in order. He rises with the sun. He always has hot tea in the morning. He makes sure not to spend too long but not too little time on a task. He walks mindful of the number of steps he takes and minds the cracks in the sidewalk. He’s an obsessive person, unfortunately. It’s a fact he knows about himself at this point. Before, he would argue things had to be this way with certainty, that or his mind would be unquiet, and the Spirits would come for him. It’s only natural that these behaviors would travel into his relationship with Wuyang.
