Summary
The line of his neck is long, bared before his King like an offering. Wukong can feel the way his teeth ache in response.
Could Macaque feel it? Wukong wonders distantly. Could he feel how his own body was seizing around Wukong’s invading touch, the way his insides clenched instinctively around his counterpart as if to draw Wukong further into himself?
The thought fills Wukong with an onslaught of tormented desire.

Summary
Macaque’s hand slides home into his chest, penetrating smooth armour and breaking through muscle and bone, sliding past still-inflating lungs and fascia to wrap around Wukong’s rabbiting heart.
“Oh, Wukong,” Macaque sighs, voice coloured in a mix of disappointment and fondness, his unoccupied hand sliding up to pat absently at the Monkey King’s cheek, “You truly do make this all too easy.”

Summary
Greed is a fickle creature.
It cracks molars open with the force of its bite, cuts the insides of mouths against sharpened incisors and gnashing teeth. It causes all manner of beings to willfully cast themselves onto an iron spike of covetous wanting, the liquid heat curling through their system like syrupy necrosis.
Greed is voracious, full of a hunger that no amount of feeding can tame.
Greed has always been a familiar beast to Sun Wukong.

Summary
There was no wine as sweet as the sound of that one sentence to Macaque’s ears. There was no music as enthralling as the shape of Wukong’s plush mouth forming each delicate word, tongue and teeth and lips curling around each syllable as he spoke it, starkly unafraid and filled with piteous yearning.
It stole the breath out of Macaque’s lungs, choked him on his own repugnant wanting.
It was fitting, to die by Sun Wukong’s hand once more — Macaque’s first death was already his, so any deaths that followed should also belong to Wukong.
