Will blinked slowly, but when he reopened his eyes, Annette had leaned back into his line of sight. She used the hand she still had lingering at his tie to grasp it and pull him in. She didn't kiss him- just held his face an inch from hers, fingers curled tight in his tie, using it like a leash.
Which, to Will, seemed appropriate.
For a moment, for the first time in years, maybe, the rest of the room dulled and his focus landed solely on Annette. Her eyes were sharp. Focused, but not angry.
"William." She said quietly, the name a warning in and of itself. "You are going to behave tonight."

This is the same Wilsker from the morning light is turning blue (the feeling is bizarre) but I'm not officially tacking it into the series because it takes place well before the fic does/only references it once. Context from that fic isn't needed to enjoy this one.
