Richard Armitage is given an exclusive, eight-week internship at the United States' Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to prepare for an upcoming television mini-series about military engineers. His mentor, Dr. Avery Nguyen, PhD (nicknamed Dan by her friends) is an over-enthusiastic, fast-talking, acronym-slinging woman with a bizarre sense of humor. As he learns more about Dan, Richard finds himself embroiled in actual spy work.
