   Summary

   To her comfort, everyone on the team had their moments. Doug was insecure and got frustrated easily. Rahne cried a lot. Sam’s “fearless leader” act often turned into periods of stoic silence and repressed emotions. They all had their problems. And when it was all said and done, they took turns taking care of one another. Even when Illyana was sure the unthinkable and unforgivable had happened, someone would stand up and say, “I’ll go check up on them.”

   The Adeptus Astartes are the pinnacle, bulwark and guardians of humanity. They are His, and they will know no fear. The Angels Resplendent- sons of Sanguinius- are paragons and champions of art, beauty and the betterment of humanity. Surely, then, a kindly Angel can show charity to a single mortal that crawled out of Commorragh.

   When Arc Brother Caelus Rossetti of the Angels Resplendent shows clemency to a scarred survivor of the Dark Eldar, he believes he’s given her a chance to heal. Years and worlds later, on a world at the edge of the Cicatrix Maledictum, she shows her fidelity and thanks. What begins as kindness becomes a cycle of devotion, obsession, inspiration and the violation of boundaries.
