Summary
Darkseid believes that, rather than finding the Anti-Life Equation, he can gain control over the creature that created it. A ritual was painstakingly crafted to both summon and bind the powerful being to his will. With the Justice League defeated, Darkseid's victory is assured as he collects the final component. His teary eyes scanned all over her body, finding it worse than what Sarrum had described. Her claws were twitching and bleeding on the dirty ground. There was no water in sight and she looked thirsty while her eyes looked milky and unseeing. Yet, she seemed to recognise him somehow. For a moment, her gaze cleared and she nuzzled her forehead against Merlin’s. Cuts among her side, red coloring her white scaled bloody.“Merlin, what the hell are you doing! Come back here! NOW! It will eat you!”
But Merlin’s glare found only Sarrum’s who seemed more confused than anything. And that look, that innocence feigning, pleased expression, blinded Merlin with pure, unaltered rage. “WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO HER!”
