Summary
Simon Reese was sitting knee to knee with her. His eyes, the same eyes that had unsettled her the first time they met, were fixed on her face.
'Simon?’ she choked.
Simon's eyes didn’t leave her as he reached out and knocked once on the coffee table. Then his face split into a grin. It was a nice, normal smile but it looked wrong on his face. His gaze was as direct as ever.
'Just kidding,’ he said.

Summary
Jackie Taylor never expected to see Shauna Shipman again—especially not ten years after high school, and definitely not at Brown University. Jackie’s been hired as the new women’s soccer coach, and Shauna? She’s a respected, alarmingly attractive literature professor with a reputation on campus and a habit of rolling up her sleeves just to mess with Jackie’s head.
They were best friends once. Before secrets. Before silence. Before everything blew up.
Now, Jackie’s rebuilding her team while Shauna keeps showing up with flowers, support, and unresolved tension. Avoiding her doesn’t work. Denying the past doesn’t help. And Jackie’s starting to think the only way out is through—through messy emotions, whispered confessions, and a few after-hours visits to Shauna’s classroom.
It’s slow. It’s complicated. But it might just be the real thing.

Summary
There’s a switchboard operator that works in the Whitechapel police department that doesn’t seem to like Charles Whiteman very much.
It’s something he decides to settle into— your reception had been lukewarm, so he channels that into something he can explain. Whiteman flirts, and you reject his advances. It’s an easier game to play, he doesn’t have to wager either of your lives, and a good enough cover that no one suspects it. Even the other officers joke about it.
Charles never really finds out what you had disliked about him. Trying to flirt your stockings off since probably hadn’t helped. And he’s mostly content with that. He’s even a pretty great cop when he’s not hiding something per orders over the phone.
And then there’s a fucking body on Longharvest Lane, he kills a man for the first time, and Esther Jankovsky shows up at Whitechapel.
