Still, he’s struggling with the realization that the power of the Sentry and the destruction of the Void are a package deal, and finally decides that he has to stop being both. Being around the New Avengers only makes his desire to be useful a burning need.
Yelena loves the team, and she’s proud of how she’s stepped up as a leader, but unlike the original Avengers, being the New Avengers came in with all sorts of strings she wasn’t prepared for. Also, the person she’s been the most herself with in the world doesn’t remember any of their most powerful conversations.
Both of their lives have improved so much. With their pasts, they shouldn’t have anything to complain about. Still, they’re not sure how they can go forward from here.
Until Yelena comes in with a proposal: “Would you like to go to couples counselling with me? I think we could trick a therapist."

Dumb as bricks John who was a decent person if you bothered to get to know him better, and who didn't deserve the shit she's been giving him for months now, was the only reason she even considered it in the first place.
That, and the thick, overread medical report lying lifelessly on her coffee table, taunting her with technicalities and filled to the brim with treason, making a mockery of the one certainty she has relied on her entire life: having children is not within Yelena Belova's capabilities.
But given the circunstances, maybe she can, and perhaps she wants to.
