In this Alternate Universe, Regina Mills meets Thomas O'Malley through his good friend, Daniel Colter. A teenager looking for a purpose in life after being adopted by a traveling band in the enchanted forest. Thomas wishes to be a Knight and young Regina wishes to be happy with Daniel. As the third wheel of this romance blossoming between Daniel and Regina, he realizes he, too, has developed irrevocable feelings for her. However, before anything else could happen, Daniel is murdered, Regina married off to King Leopold and Thomas accepted to train as a knight in one of the most ruthless armies in their world. King George's army. And as he finishes his service, he sees a flyer sent out by King Leopold looking for a trustworthy knight to protect and to watch after his young Queen... Regina. And who else to do that but him.
After many years of becoming Regina's personal knight and dear confidante, even through her Evil Queen phase, he follows her dutifully to the cursed town of Storybrooke. With his memory wiped, he only knows Regina as the mayor of Storybrooke and... his wife.
