Summary
Johnny swallowed, throat tight. He didn’t want to say what had been on his mind, it felt stupid now, after everything, but it sat heavy in his chest like a stone and wouldn’t leave. The guilt ate away at him, ravenous. Slowly, shamefully, he admitted, “I thought he was gonna hit you.”
Ponyboy froze, head whipping around so quick he probably cricked his neck. His wide eyes flew all over Johnny’s face as if looking for the joke there and when he didn’t find it he blinked, stunned.
“What?”

Summary
"Soda's chest tightened painfully and he doubled over as the weight of it all settled squarely on his shoulders. If he didn't act soon, very soon, the pole would give way entirely, and Pony and Darry would both be flattened under the full weight of the semi. He would lose them both. He had to choose.
He had to choose.
How could he ever choose?"
xxx

Summary
Ponyboy Curtis used to see the world in gold.
Now he sees it in red.Grief carved its way through him slow, quiet, brutal—until all that remained was a shadow with a blade in his pocket and blood on his hands. He was supposed to be the soft one, the golden one. The one who made it out.
But even dreamers can rot.
Dallas Winston was never soft. He’s built from scars and spit and fists that always hit first. He’s never claimed to care. Not about anything—
Except Johnny.
Except maybe him.Now Ponyboy’s eyes look too much like mirrors. And Dally’s the only one who sees what’s cracking beneath the silence.
This is a story about the ones who don’t make it out clean. About what grief turns you into when no one’s looking.
About how easy it is to mistake a knife for a lifeline. And how staying gold was never really an option.

Summary
The Curtis brothers have a language older than words.
It sounds like morning coffee going cold, like a hand in hair, like someone trying very hard not to smile. Ponyboy is fourteen and writing at the kitchen table and has absolutely no idea what he looks like in October light.
Soda is trying not to say too much.
Darry is already a ghost who would burn the world down twice.Just a Tuesday morning in a house that smells like woodsmoke and almost-touched things.
(AKA: Soda is the gold of the morning, all warmth and easy smiles. Pony is the silver of the night, quiet and deep and a little bit lonely. This is a collection of the moments where the sun and moon meet in the middle.)
