Stede must decide whether he wants to pursue a relationship so soon after leaving his marriage, and what it is he really wants to do with his life when a dazzling invitation arrives in the mail.Izzy is forced to admit that he might not want this dalliance with Stede to end, and navigate between the truth and wonder of who he might be outside his strictly enforced framework. What price he'd be willing to pay in order to reconcile softness in his own heart after a brutal reminder of why those walls were built in the first place.
Edward is searching for meaning in the onslaught of more and more powerful visions affecting them all as they bleed through the cracks into everyday life. They are becoming real, and he worries 'real' might actually mean 'dangerous'.

Stede’s shock is becoming something else, something Izzy doesn’t have a name for. He’s not sure he ever had a name for this, for— for the way Stede’s face is crumpling, eyes glassing over, tears spilling when his chin trembles and his mouth opens and his voice asks, “Izzy?”
Ed stirs next to him. He didn’t wake all night, through the sleep-talking, but something about this gets through to him, and he shifts, brow furrowing slightly.
“I’ve missed you,” Stede says, before Izzy can formulate a response. He doesn’t even know if he can. “I’ve been hoping I’d get to see you again.”
That’s when Izzy moves to stand, the chair pushes back, the legs screech on the hardwood floor, Stede understands this isn’t just a hallucination, and he gasps so suddenly he may as well have screamed.
“Izzy.”

“I need to have you all to myself.” He said, emphatically. Crowley chuckled.
“Oh Angel, you’ve got me! I’m all yours.”
“I need to show you, though. I feel that terrible… vice of mine come to the surface when I’m around you. And I keep having all these horrible thoughts, Crowley.” He took a step towards the demon.” I need to make you feel that you’re mine. Only mine.”
Crowley put down his book slowly, paying full attention.
“Ok.”
The angel blinked. “What?”

Stede presses a kiss to his forehead, enjoys the sweet scent of bergamot and citrus, the barest hint of lavender - Izzy doesn’t handle lavender well, too much exposure inflames his sinus, so they avoid too much use of the flower, but a little is alright, a little is just enough.
“I know. Isn’t it amazing?”
Edward frowns. “Amazing?”
“Yes! Did you ever expect to get this far? I know I didn’t!” Stede says, laughing, running his fingers through his hair.
Edward looks up at him in mounting realization.
“We did it. We survived.”
Stede nods, pulls Edward in so their foreheads touch.
“We survived, dear heart.”
It’s a wondrous thing, surviving. It’s a wondrous thing, living.
