Somehow leading to a custody battle breaking out between Batman, the suspicious mayor, and a ghost prison warden.

Best read alongside the Inheritance trilogy if you’ve ever finished a chapter and thought, “Yes, but how does this actually work?” or "How are they all drinking wine?", or "How does modern technology impact the Volturi's feeding habits?"

This monstrosity exists because I asked myself exactly that and was unsatisfied by canon explanations – or lack thereof.
