And spreads his hands out in front of himself, as if he is presenting the answer; as if that explains it. It doesn't. "

Summary
“Don’t touch me,” Nacho whispered. His voice possessed the raspy edge of someone jolted awake, but the stark, rigid defiance in it cut through the air.
His fear wasn’t of Lalo, or who he was, or the Salamanca lines on his face. His fear was simply of a hand, any hand, touching that skin, that flesh, and triggering a fresh wave of agony. It was the very concept of being touched.
Lalo left his outstretched hands hovering in midair. His fingers trembled slightly, but he concealed it instantly.
He took half a step back, granting Nacho the few inches of breathing room he desperately needed in that dark basement.
“Okay,” Lalo said, his voice as smooth and calm as a whisper. “Okay, Ignacio. I’m not touching you. Look, my hands are right here.”

Nacho is kidnapped by a rival cartel, and Lalo is the one who rescues him.

Summary
Mike manages to shoot Hector Salamanca, and someone has to take his place while Tuco is still in jail. A sudden promotion catches Nacho off-guard, but at the same time opens possibilities he hasn't let himself consider before, until the arrival from Mexico changes the terms entirely. What do you have to sacrifice to have the whole world at your fingertips?
This is a story with a happy ending, but not necessarily a happy one.

Summary
Lalo seems as unperturbed as ever, spidery shadows twitching on his cheeks, when his eyes move behind his closed lids.
He’s still just mouthing along to the lyrics, his whole profile illuminated by the sun, every pore, wrinkle and hair follicle made visible, an effect only exacerbated by the slight sheen of sweat on his skin.
Unwittingly, Nacho’s reminded of that documentary on deep-sea life Jo and Amber had running in the background yesterday while they were high out of their mind. Of the anglerfish dangling a light in front of unsuspecting fish. Look at me, it screams. Dig your teeth in, gorge yourself. But just when you think yourself safe, when you get too close – a snap of teeth and you’re over. Done for.
Nacho is that fish. Perhaps even stupider, considering he knows exactly what he’s facing.
(AU in which soulmates can only speak the truth to one another, and Nacho's already crappy situation takes a turn for the worse when he's confronted with a sudden inability to lie to Lalo.)
