Summary
Aerion decides that having a new, very big, very strong personal guard suits him better than going through the ordeal of a trial. Baelor and Maekar decide that having someone to control Aerion isn't such a bad idea. And Dunk, stuck in the middle, learns that there is more to guarding a temperamental prince than just following him around.

The story follows Ser Duncan the Tall on a damp morning at the castle, where he surprises everyone by disarming Prince Aerion Targaryen twice during practice. The prince hides his bruised pride but becomes interested in Dunk, eventually inviting him to a private dinner.
At the dinner, Dunk faces a group of proud, polished knights, but his honest, straightforward ways unsettle them. Once the other guests leave, the tension between Dunk and Aerion turns into a private, intimate encounter. They later share a bath, highlighting Dunk’s solid, dependable nature and Aerion’s sharp, intense personality.Bookmarked by Amidar7

Summary
"Do not mistake me for Aerys or Rhaegal," he muttered, voice strained with forced control, though Baelor could hear the metered exhale of his breath. "Do you hear me?"
Maekar's grip tightened, and Baelor felt his weight more acutely up the length of his spine as he bent nearer again, "do you hear me?" he asked once more, a mean edge to his voice- as if he were asking Baelor if he yielded with his sword knocked free of his hand and Maekar's knee shoving his gorget against his throat. The answer had been obvious then, as it was obvious now. Baelor had always evaded such an answer, enjoying the life and vicious spirit in his brother's eye; he evaded the answer now, though he had nothing to stare at besides the grain of the table.
Do you yield?

Summary
Baelor has met a great many unpleasant things unflinchingly and yet this is one he had hoped he would not have to face until its reveal was unavoidable, and Maekar’s feelings of betrayal and anger could be solely focused on him in a way that would aid both their cause. And spare him this.
Maekar confronts Baelor before the trial. Baelor has his reasons.
