Summary
There wasn't a single time during her battle with Walpurgisnacht that Homura thought, "maybe we can win this."
It was a thought that she had banished dozens of resets past. It did nothing but sow disappointment and self-loathing when she inevitably failed. That isn't to say she never believed the day would come that she may win, but it was a train of thought that was so far out of mind, it hardly registered to her at all as potential truth.
She had watched those gears stop turning, saw the grin and heard the laughter of the grand witch fade as it tumbled towards the Earth. She'd killed more witches than could reasonably be counted, but this was the only one to -fall.- It didn't seem real. Couldn't be.

Walpurgisnacht is dead. Madoka still breathes mortal. In the aftermath, Homura must learn to live in a world she had stopped believing was possible. A post-series, no Rebellion AU about how one so thoroughly broken can find the strength to press on, and what that desperate fight may look like.

Summary
New Mexico, 1909.

Summary
For as far as recorded history reaches, humans and Demons have walked the same Earth. For millennia, the vampire threat terrorized mankind, leading to paranoia, distrust, and a halt to progress in civilization. That was, until Schicksal was formed. Their slayers, the Valkyries, were the only true counter to the menace. Well into the Information Age, the Valkyries remain as a totem to all that is good in the world, and a symbol of hope for all mankind.
While most of the Demons are feral, in the last few hundred years, some have learned to walk among the humans. Imperceptible, going about their lives with the help of the few humans who are willing to donate blood to keep them from going feral. But Schicksal cannot allow this to happen. Man and beast may not coexist. An A-Rank Valkyrie by the name of Kiana Kaslana, callsign K-423, is soon to be deployed to Arc City, where she and her team are to subdue a Demon who has raised alarm across Schicksal due to the power she carries. A power not seen for centuries.
Her name is Mei. And as these two opposing forces are about to meet, they will alter the course of eachother's lives, and maybe, the world as we know it.
