Summary
Maester Kelvyn nods, “Sore chest?”
Lucerys’ eyes widens, “Oh.”
This is Aemond's fault. It is.
His hand unconsciously goes to one of his breasts. They are a bit sore, indeed, just like when Lucerys is about to get his moon blood—but so are they full of teeth marks. He thought it was just the consequence of having a young, healthy Alpha at his prime for a husband.
Lucerys’ catches Aemond's eye on his hand and drops it instantly, face glowing red. “Yes.”
“I see.” The Maester only nods again.

Summary
Aemond turns, already by the door when she says, hurt and angry and tired all at once, “You are no son of mine.”
Before Aemond ruined their dinner, Mother raised her cup to Rhaenyra and said she would make a fine queen. Before Aemond left the room, Mother held Rhaenyra's arm and hand, softer than any touch she ever gave to her own children, caressed the scar she gave his sister the same night Aemond got his own, and asked her to stay. You've only just arrived.
People say that jealousy was the color green. But in Aemond's opinion, so was hypocrisy.
He says, softly, “Oh, Mother, but that's all I am.” before leaving the room.

Summary
“It must’ve been hard, then. How did the ship not sink with the load of leaves and flowers to brew moon tea?”
Lucerys grunts, elbowing his Uncle’s side. Aemond barely moves.
“There was no need for that. We married for duty only, and without having to perform it, there was no reason for us to lay together. There was no—” he shrugs, as casually as he can. “Indulging.”
Aemond's steps falter almost imperceptibly. “No?”
“Only during our wedding night. Not once after that.”

Summary
“I would not object,” he said at last, the words coming out low and flat, “if he were… less sparing with such courtesies.”
There. Said. Dragged out like a rotten tooth by his well-meaning, insect-obsessed sister.
He loathed how raw it felt, to admit aloud that he would take more, if offered.
More kisses. More of Lucerys’ easy warmth. More of what had never been given freely to him as a child.
It was humiliating, how rarely Lucerys kissed him and how greedily he hoarded each instance like a dragon with too few coins.
OR
A year into their marriage, Aemond has learned to live with shared breakfasts, a shared bed, and painfully rare kisses—
until one overheard confession gives Lucerys every excuse to change that.Bookmarked by AloneBlueRose
