Summary
When Ethan was fourteen, his world went up in flames. When he was fourteen, he took his mother's gun and escaped the city with a wagon of other survivors who knew better than to betray their names or faces to the smiling people in uniforms who claimed to be aid workers. He learned early that help is not always help, and that people are rarely who they claim to be, or even who they think they are.

“Karl,” Miranda mused in a pleased tone as she sees her foster son, quickly rising from her seat to hug him. Heisenberg smiles softly, “Good to see you too, mother.”
She moves back then inspects what he’s wearing, “I honestly wasn’t expecting you to wear your clothes properly, but I’m glad you did. I have someone I’d like for you to meet.”
“Please, Gods, don’t let it be a fucking princess,” Heisenberg shouts mentally as his eyes follow Miranda’s hand. Standing next to the queen’s desk is a young man in a knight’s armor. He has short blond hair and blue eyes, a scar going across his nose and going down his right eye. He has an emotionless expression on his face, his eyes barely glistening with life.
