Beatrice shrugged. She should have been alarmed, trying her best to shake off whatever Ava was trying to find out, but she just...didn't. That alone should have set the bells ringing in her head.
She never felt this comfortable around strangers. Something about Ava's earnest curiosity was making her feel warm inside. She felt seen. Not as a warrior. Not as a nun. Not as anything. Just as her. Beatrice. A human being.
"I am just a nun."
Ava's smile was knowing though. Her voice grew impossibly lighter, "No one is ever just something. Don't sell yourself short."

Beatrice Young has never considered herself especially lucky. But now, she was second-guessing her preconceived beliefs about luck. Beatrice Young, unit leader of the Order of the Sword was currently being pinned to the ground with a small knife pressed to her larynx, staring into the scowling face of perhaps the most beautiful woman she had ever seen. Beatrice watched as the woman’s lips screwed into a terrifying smirk and her eyes darkened substantially. The weight of this beautiful woman on top of her led her to feel countless emotions which, for the first time as far as she could recall, included Lady Luck herself.

There was something oddly uncomfortable about trying to sleep in a lab. It was incredible to be able to roam through the different rooms and look at the technology that was, quite literally, out of this world. It was still a lab, though, and it was neither warm nor inviting. As such, Ava had decided to get out of bed after imagining one too many wraith demons in the corners of her room.
