    “When I acted in love for you,” she finished, meeting his gaze. “We need to get our past selves to realize their feelings.”

    “You’re saying we need to play matchmaker.”

    “Yes.”

    “For our past selves.”

    “Yes.”

    He dragged a hand down his face. “We’re doomed.”

They take it upon themselves to save everyone from impending doom, which includes helping their past selves get along. It’s a lot easier said than done. Oh, and more people are disappearing.
