Frank and Abby’s marriage had survived a lot over the years. Abby had endured the emotional distance during the pandemic and the coldness that followed; she’d survived the loneliness of being a stay-at-home mom with no help, survived a dog, survived Frank getting suspended from the hospital for stealing drugs, and all the soul-crushing stress of rehab. She’d put up with months of endless extra shifts and mysterious absences.
The sight of him pounding Mel from behind, however—while Mel clung to the kitchen counter, arched on her tiptoes to take every inch of him—was the absolute final straw.Or: Frank gets really angry when he finds out that Mel is looking for a stranger to take her virginity.
