He was being held down easily. Firmly restrained as if he wasn’t one of the top four strongest cultivators in their generation, no matter how hard he shoved against the grip on himself his oppressor wasn’t budging at all. Leaving him staring up in a mixture of nervousness, excitement (mostly shock) and fine maybe — he could admit privately to himself — a little bit of fear at the positively enraged alpha that was restraining him.

After abandoning his promising career at Lotus Pier fine dining and disappearing for seven years, Wei Wuxian opens up a noodle truck directly outside Cloud Recesses Bakery. Coincidence? Or part of an extremely complicated plot to force two idiots to finally get together?
A slow burn modern-ish Wangxian centric fic, with lots of Wen siblings, some Jiang family drama, and lots of culinary shenanigans. Each chapter is half "present" timeline with bakery, food truck, and Wen Qing's tea shop dreams and half "past" timeline back when they're all in culinary school.

Lan Wangji follows silently as they enter the cave. The silence between them stretches but Wen Qing doesn’t offer any more information to fill it. Lan Wangji can hear faint clattering, the rustle of paper and once he can make out the light coming from the main cavern, a hissed “fuck.”.
“Wei Wuxian.” Wen Qing says. She is intentionally heavy in her steps and her footsteps echo louder as a result.
“What? Is something wrong?”
“Your Hanguang-Jun has come to pay you a visit.” Wen Qing stops them before they round the corner.
“Hangua— Fuck!” The loud clattering increases followed by the sound of a drawer slamming shut. There's a loud crash from inside that makes Lan Wangji wince. A metal disk rolls around the corner and circles Lan Wangji’s foot before falling and rattling around with another horrible sound. “Uh— Tell him I’m not here. That I went out to run some errands. I'll come around the back entrance and show him the way out in a few minutes, I just need to—”
“Wei Ying.” Lan Wangji says.
“Fuck! Wen Qing! I didn’t think you meant he was right beside you! why didn’t you say something?!”

The Sunshot Campaign was losing. It was only a matter of time before Wen Ruohan beat them into submission. There were rumours surrounding a force in Yiling that could potentially turn the tide. The place was taken from the Wen early in the war but no one knows by whom, known only as the 'Yiling Patriarch'. All forces that the Wen have sent to try and retake Yiling have been destroyed entirely. If he allied with the campaign then it could potentially turn the tide of the war. A messenger was sent to him asking what he wants in exchange for an alliance.
The response came back: the heir of one of the Great Sects in marriage. For the war to be won, someone must be sacrificed.
