By the time he leaves the elevator he’s angry, each reverberation of his feet hitting asphalt felt in the remaining bones and surgical grade titanium in his right leg, all the way up to his hip. It takes him less than sixty seconds to walk from the parking deck to the ambulance bay. Ten feet from the entrance, he sees Robby walk through the first set of doors, past Ahmad, and then through the second set of doors. His pulse roars in his ears, his heart pounding in his chest. “I usually have pretty good judgment,” Garcia continues. “I stay calm, I think clearly, and I make logical choices. But when you came to me with extremely reasonable concerns about someone I’ve worked with for a long time, I snapped at you and shut you down. You deserved patience, and advice, and respect,” Garcia admits, “and I’m sorry.”
Trinity takes a moment to digest all of this, then nods a little, then takes a half-step closer as a sign of trust or whatever. “Thank you,” she says quietly and finds Garcia’s eyes. “I really… I appreciate all of that. Thank you.”
She watches Garcia’s posture relax slightly, then watches Garcia take her own small step forward, then watches Garcia’s expression shift into something that makes Trinity’s breath catch.

Samira threw an arm across the side of her bed, grabbing blindly at her night stand for the ringing phone and glanced at the screen to see that Jack Abbot (ATTENDING!!!) was the one ringing her at 1:53, which was odd because she knew he had been scheduled for the night off. She thought, perhaps, that he had offered to fill in for Shen. Abbot was the only one in the hospital who could give her workaholic tendencies a run for their money.
“Hello?” she answered, switching on the lamp on her nightstand and sitting up in bed, unable to keep the gravel of sleep out of her voice.
“Doctor Mohan? Mohan. Mo-hun,” Abbot answered, and though his voice was thick and slurred in a way that Samira had never heard before, his pronunciation of her surname was perfect.

Darcy was nice. Sergeant Barnes was quiet (and a little moody) but mostly also nice. It sounded like they’d had a very romantic and private wedding.
Bernard was sure they hadn’t had time to fill out forms SRT-932-A parts 1-7 or HGE-324-C to declare their new relationship status at work. He'd take care of it. He could also update their state and withholding paperwork for them.
Considering how busy they both were, it was really the least he could do. They both did so much for other people. They deserved some help every now and then.
