It almost felt like sleep paralysis, it felt weird to not have a grasp on his own body. But, now, he was awake, and he kind of missed the quiet he had while he was out. He felt weaker, which the doctors said was normal since he hadn’t been moving for the better part of a year.
”Tell me your name?” One had asked, holding his head still while she shined a flashlight in his eyes. He winced, nose crinkling. He missed the dark.
”My name is Billy Hargrove,” he croaked, coughing when the words came out. That was normal too, apparently, since he also hadn’t been talking for the past eight months. It was so foreign, not to have anything in his body or mind work the way he wanted it to, he’d never had a problem with it before. He frowned, looking away as the flashlight burned his eyes once more. “I can see fine, I can think fine,” well, not entirely, but he wanted out as soon as possible, “can I get out of here yet?”
