DC REALLY wants a cat. Really Bad. He might've made a rule against animals in the office, but he will go INSANE if he is forced into the same room with the states without a fluffy companion by his side. And then he finds one. And then that one disappears. But it's okay, because another one appears! (Also, what is going on with his states?)
(Basically, I'm just rewriting WttT, but if DC wanted a cat and he signed a paper and he gets cat :D )

Two years after not seeing each other, Merlin begins to realize that there might be more to Arthur Pendragon than he originally thought, and learns what it’s like to want someone—while acting a little stupid along the way, of course.

“I wonder how things would be if we’d evolved on the same planet,” Grace says, leaning his forearms on his elevated knee. The one kept up by Rocky’s body. It puts even more weight on him, and Rocky feels the texture of Grace’s shoe through the xenonite, the bumps and ridges, the rocks and leaves stuck to the bottom. “You think we’d eat each other?”
It takes every ounce of self control for Rocky to keep the noise he makes somewhat dignified. He kind of needs Grace to stop talking.

Two days after their first contact—and more importantly, their first words—Grace sets up his thinking machine to speak.
Rocky does not need the assistance of a machine for Grace’s language. It is ugly and harsh to listen to, but it’s relatively simple to learn. That, and, well—Rocky was alone for a very, very long time before he met Grace. He maybe hangs on to each word a little more than strictly necessary. Grace only needs to tell him each word once for Rocky to know it forever.
