Later, in the Batcave, Damian tries to take one of his father's Batarangs to practice with. His father immediately grabs the weapon, and glares at Damian. "You have your own, Damian," father says, eyes flicking over to Damian's locker and draws. "Please don't take anyone else's tools, you could damage them."
His father does not mention the sweatshirt that Timothy is wearing, even when he sees Timothy rolling the sleeves up trying to type on the Batcomputer. Damian does not mention it either.

“Damian. Damian. D-A-M-I-A-N. Damian. Dami, D, Robin, Rob, R, R-O-B-I-N, Damian, dude, bro–” Jon enunciates each call with an accompanying nudge of his foot against Damian’s chair.
Eventually, Damian gets fed up with this action and, without ever looking, throws a screw driver at Jon’s head.
“Ow!” Jon whines, rubbing at a spot he pretends is sore from the hit, “Jerk.”
Damian tuts and once more rolls his eyes before finally answering, “What plan?”Hands quickly abandoning their soothing motion on his temple, Jon excitedly slams them against the back of Damian’s chair, bouncing up and down on the balls of his feet, “Your Birthday plans! Duh!”
Unamused, Damian’s focus remains on the task in front of him, "I don't have any.”

Summary
Others had spent years deciding who Damian should be– breaking him down and building him back up– rebuilding him into something useful. But this decision was something that belonged to him.
The thought felt insultingly simple. It had always been there, hadn’t it? It was like a whisper that lurked in the darkest corners of his mind– he didn’t have to do this anymore, he didn’t have to pretend, he didn’t have to keep failing others. For once, he could choose.
And the choice would be his.
